I am flying to Kuala Lumpur tonight to attend an international Conference at Kuala Lumpur , at which I will present a paper on " The Flouting of International Laws by States and the Failure of International Institutions to uphold and enforce the international laws ". It is a great honour for me to be among a galaxy of intellectuals , political leaders , activists and others to add my voice to the crimes daily committed by the west . well since a couple of centuries , at least .And it is taken by many , specially in India as if it is the most natural thing in the world ,Details of the conference are given below .For more details visit www.futurefastforward.com.

The theme of the Conference is based essentially on the Kuala Lumpur Declaration to Criminalise War for which some of the speakers are the original sponsors and signatories, namely Mr. Denis Haliday, Mr. Hans Von Sponeck, Prof. Michel Chossudovsky and Prof. Francis Boyle.

      It is:

     CRIMINALISE WAR:

    -  To Stop The Slaughter of the Innocents

    -  To Stop The Profiteers Earning Blood Money

    -  To Stop The Mass Media From Glorifying Wars

    -  To Stop The Manufacture Of Weapons

The conference has been divided into four basic segments:

      1)  The Flouting of International Laws by States and the Failure of International Institutions to uphold and enforce the international laws

As a result, wars continue to be waged, innocents slaughtered and countries devastated by the barbarism unleashed

      2)  Economic Sanctions as a Weapon of War

It is more the abuse of sanctions rather than sanctions itself, as the UN Charter does allow for such actions, and how such abuses have benefited financially the leading multi-national corporations and institutions. The Oil for Food Program is one example.

      3)  The Roles of Media in Glorifying War and the relentless pursuit of weapons manufacture etc.

      4)  Promotion of the KL Initiative and Global Peace from various perspectives

B)  The War Crimes Exhibition

There will be a War Crimes Exhibition same as before in 2007 but on a smaller scale with emphasis on Torture and war crimes committed in Iraq

C)   The Deliberations of the War Crimes Commission and the War Crimes Tribunal

As a lawyer, we must be careful how we go about preparing the charges. The evidence against the various accused cannot simply be lumped together. They are different.

We are going after them systematically and as torture evidence is overwhelming and there are express admissions we are going after the US criminals first.

Blair and Howard etc will come in another session, likewise the war crimes committed in Palestine. We cannot be going after each and everyone in one go. We are not a Kangaroo Court.

Charges are DEPENDENT on the evidence received, investigated and found to be credible by the War Crimes Commission. It is only when the War Crimes Commission submits to the Prosecution Team the evidence that it can then decides what charges to be proffered.

Thus far, the evidence that has been collated, investigated etc. relates to torture (recall 2007) in Iraq and the illegal invasion of Iraq. The Commission has yet to submit evidence (detail) to the Prosecution Team against the other accused, Blair etc.

I will be preoccupied with the conference for a week or so .

Wish us best of luck and success and take care Gajendra.
